The advancements presented include qualitative changes in hardware, system integration optimizations and results.
The partners of the European LIFE-AIs project have met at Kubota Spain’s headquarters to present the progress achieved and strengthen the strategic collaboration with Kubota, a key player in the future replication of the project’s results.
During the meeting, the current progress of the AIs system was shared, a pioneering technology in the specialty crops sector that uses Artificial Intelligence and 3D image processing to perform highly precise phytosanitary and nutritional treatments, adjusting spray application tree by tree. The AIs technology evaluates the vigor and condition of crops in real time to control the opening and closing of the sprayer nozzles.
The advancements presented include qualitative changes in hardware, system integration optimizations and results from trials conducted so far in various crop types (olive, vineyard, and pistachio).
About the LIFE-AIs Project
The AIs system has received support from the European Union’s Life Programme for the development of the project under the acronym LIFE-AIs (Project 101074540 — LIFE21-ENV-ES-Life-AIs). It is a consortium formed by Fede (project leader) and Agerpix as technology partners, along with major producers Castillo de Canena (olive), Dominio Fournier D.O. Ribera de Duero (vineyard) from the González Byass wine family and Agróptimum (pistachio).
The LIFE-AIs technology is currently being tested and fine-tuned in the partners’ plantations to accelerate the transfer of innovation to the agricultural sector. For more information, visit the official LIFE-AIs website.
